from here on out, we'll be naming someone hero/ine of the week, just to dedicate some space to those of you out there who have a special place in our heart and who have gone above and beyond to show your support for heroine films. we really appreciate the support and just want to recognize you wonderful people.
Erika is one of the most amazing people in our lives. Besides being one of Amanda's best friends since she was seventeen and being there for her through the good and the bad, Erika was one of the first people to get behind heroine films - supporting us from the start! Once again, true to form, she's done something amazing...Erika reached out to us from the war in IRAQ (where she was deployed last year) and contributed a large donation to our cause. Thank you. Thank you, Erika! You amaze us. There's a care package on the way (there might even be some boiled peanuts in it...). Come home safe. We miss you... xoxo Amanda, Mel & Alex
Stepping inside the door at Bread & Butter Screenprinting, it's obvious you're not in an average print shop. Focusing on the task of creating custom-made t-shirts for groups, businesses and events, Bread & Butter has the feel of an artist's studio, not a "factory." With over ten years experience and a steady stream of repeat clients to show for it, owner Melanie Wall enjoys running a truly "small" business. "It's great to find out that not everyone is into the 'bigger-is-better' mindset." With the help of associate Mike Rosenfelder, this team of two can manage a printing project from concept to cleanup. "We're excited to help your vision come to life here. Whether it comes in the door as finished vector art, or scribbled on a napkin or sticky-note, we can work with you until it looks as good as you hoped it would," adds Mike. Whether starting the design process or putting the finishing touches on the printing, Bread & Butter adheres to the same philosophy. "It's important to remember that it's not just ink on a shirt – it becomes personal on a lot of levels. The shirt may represent a business logo, an event participated in, or a cause that is significant to the wearer. It's also an article of clothing that will be worn over and over for years. Everyone has certain t-shirts that are literally threadbare before they will part with them," says Melanie. "As printers, we are lucky to be a part of such a personal process." "As a community, you have worn our t-shirts to promote your work, support your schools and celebrate your passions," Melanie offers. "All we can say is thanks and keep up the good work." PS. Bread & Butter is now offering one-of-a-kind heat transfers and graphic design/business identity services. Thanks for everything, Mel! We love ya! xox the gals at heroine films

WEEK #3
Olivia is a love. She came on to the project very early on and has been a tireless supporter of Heroine Films; sending out e-mails to listservs in the area for us, hooking us up with the awesome Cuntry Kings, sporting our gear and last but certainly not least...yep, you were right, that is Olivia's shiny mug on The Gladdest Thing Trailer!!! Olivia worked a double on the 21 hour Saturday of filming. She showed up between her shifts and worked late into the night for us without pay, without a lot of food/drink and we are indebted to her for dealing with us through the insanity of guerilla filmmaking. Thanks so much, Olivia. You're amazing!!! xoxo the gals at heroine films.
WEEK #4
Sean is a dear friend and accomplished director/editor. The Heroines had their first opportunity to work together as a foursome on Sean's 35mm, Christmas Wish List (check out the on set stills in our Pics of the Heroines on Set). Out of the goodness of his heart, he spent hours cutting our Promotional Trailer together and has been incredibly supportive of Heroine Films (even if he doesn't want to wear one of the "got heroine" Ts ;) ) We love ya, Sean. Just wanted to let you know that you're appreciated and that your time/energy and opinion means so much. Thanks for being a stand up guy and for supporting us!! xox the gals...
WEEK #5
Oh, Olivia. When are you gonna come be in one of our movies? We just want to say thanks to you for the amazing/overwhelming support and for introducing us to your kick ass mom (and for other things that we are not privledged to talk about at this time - Just know that she personally rocks out world and Mel especially loves you for it- wink. wink)! Olivia is an incredibly talented actress and will hopefully come be our bodygaurd one of these days as she stands about a foot over most of the heroines. We're dropping the red dress off in locker # 44 tomorrow if ya know what I mean. Check out Olivia's website for her improv troup: Throw Like a Girl (Also look under Heroine's Links) xox the gals
