Our favorite HEROINE JUNKIE!!!!  We love you, Beth!

It is honestly a pleasure for me to help out some talented, artsy gals do what makes them happy. I hope that when your movie comes out, there will be some way for me to check it out!

I'm very flattered...I've never been in movie credits before! I feel like I should have some exotic name like....Sasafrazz or Les. B. Inn!!! But, I think I'll just go with plain old Beth M., if you don't mind.

Thank you, thank you, and a thousand blessings on your important work. May you have more fun than you ever dreamed doing your film, and may you make many people as happy as you have made me!

Beth M. "heroine junkie"!!!

(we love you andy...would love to shake your hand)

Dear Heroine Films

I wanted to say, I think it's terrible that you're meeting with such
resistance. I am a straight male with many close gay friends and have
heard so many stories about their persecution and their ongoing battles
with the restrictive, obsolete puritanical values that still rule the
minds of those in power.

I do my part to battle it too. Even here in Los Angeles people are so
incredibly ignorant. I was sitting on the bus going to work one morning
and a 40's-ish "righteous man" type in a rumpled suit sitting next to
me saw two men walking down the street holding hands. he turned to me and
said, "god, look at that, isn't it disgusting? how can people live with
having an unnatural sexual preference?" (i HATE that phrase.) i don't
know that he expected me to confront him; I am 23 but i look like i'm about
15 (i'm a quarter filipino - we age well till we're 50 and then we look
like we're 150)... and i said "oh, yeah. totally. so, why don't you tell me
exactly when you made your *conscious decision* to prefer women?" he
looked at me, so puzzled, and said "that's completely different."

i got off the bus in disgust, long before my stop. i just couldn't sit
next to that ignorant, foolish man any longer.

there's such a long road ahead before such lofty ideals as unity,
acceptance, and equality become the standard for humanity; i see so
much squandered potential everywhere i look... but i know that the world is
capable of putting peoples' differences behind it. throughout the
course of my life i intend to fight ignorance where i see it and where i can
be of help. as for now it seems small victories will have to suffice. let
me just say that i hope you achieve your victory and I wish you the best of luck.

sincerely yours,

andy a.

Thanks so much Jesse & Kathleen!
From Lucas in Seattle February 11, 2005
Lucas, your gesture really touched us and sorta came out of the blue...Thanks for thinking of us and taking the time to give your support.
credit to you independant films are so hard to get seen not to mention made so the added prejudice your facing is unfair. Im currently studying film and as i also want to be an independant film maker (hopefully working for amber films which is local to me) but i have encountered problems with my work in college.

I made a film about college student finishing their education but not being ready to face the big real world. The film was set within a house party not unlike many i have been too. No one objected to the drug taking scenes, a very grafic asault scean and a belly churning vomitting scene.

how ever the college asked me to cut out a conversation where one charicter explains to another his mum is gay and has a girlfriend who has helped raise him from birth.

It looked to them like i was makeing too strong a political point for a college film in my first year. if it offened examiners i might not pass but the really sad thing was is that the young lad asked me if he could say it because his mums really are gay and really did a very good job of bringing him up. He was really hurt when i told him i had been asked to cut it.

I hope you all get the recognition you diserve and ill tell adam and his mums about you.

Congratulations! You girls are amazing!
It must be nice to see all your hard work start to pay off. :)

My mum would love a t-shirt, and she said that if you girls end up in Concord at all she's be happy to put you up, or at least feed you.
